I haven't found or heard of any successful way to remedy my problem with my MBP not auto-connecting to my Airport Extreme, so I've pretty well resigned my self to re-installing OSX.
I may also upgrade the hard drive from 120gig to 160gig because I need the extra space to run WinXP and Vista in Parallels.
A couple of questions...
1. I have a significant photo library setup in iPhoto. How can I move this from the old hard drive to the new one? I do use SuperDupe and will make a fresh backup before proceeding. Can I restore what I need for iPhoto from the backup?
2. With regards to Parallels. I have a WinXP guest operating system installed that is about 30 gig in size. How would I go about migrating this from one hard drive to the new one?
If you can offer advice, I appreciate it.

Windows XP taking up 30GB of space?! Something is not right there.

Everything should move just fine as long as you make a bootable copy using SuperDuper!. The only thing I would worry about is your warranty. It will void the warranty upgrading a MBP hard drive, not to mention it is quite a process.
Have you tried deleting AirPort preferences? You should not be having an issue like this. I would also consider trying to connect with another account. If that works you know it is a preferences issue. -
Without knowing what I have installed in WinXP; how can you make that kind of a comment? I'm a software developer so I have 15 gig of applications and corresponding data files that have been developed over the past 10 years.
I have a number of Windows apps includes Office 2003.
I did not mean that just the WinXP installation tood up 30 gig. That was only a couple of gig, but since then I have installed tons of stuff in it. -
I'll try creating a new user and see if it finds the Airport Extreme. I really think it is something deeper in the network preferences and since I'm not an OSX pro, I won't be able to figure it out. I've got postings in a number of forums, including Apple's, and no one has been able to offer any sound advice.
Yes, I'm concerned... a little, about the warranty, but I've been working with Windows PC's for 30 years so I've been through this many times. Typically, I don't rely on warranty work by the vendor unless it's something that I can't take care of myself. If that happens, time for a new laptop.
Upgrade hard drive and iphoto?
