I upgraded my MBA 13" 2010 to Lion.

When I reboot the control + 2 finger scroll works.

At some point after sleep mode, it stops working. Never had this issue before.

When I reboot, it starts working again.

    Anyone else seeing this?

I wonder if I need to do a clean install of Lion.

A clean install might help though it won't guarantee anything. I can tell you that performance for me has generally been better after clean installing Lion vs just upgrading in SL. I am still having issues setting up two finger swiping for Finder navigation but other than that, Lion has been running a lot smoother with a clean install. Google's Music program used to cause my system to freeze and so did MATLAB 2011a but, after clean installing Lion and then re-installing those programs, I haven't had any issues with them. In fact, my MBP has yet to freeze or even be rebooted after clean installing Lion.

People have been calling Lion the Vista/ME of Mac OS and I can kind of see that if one simply upgrades from SL (though I still think that experience was a lot smoother than even clean installing either Vista or ME) but clean installing Lion has been almost a completely different experience for me.

Everything's been fine for me, and this isn't with a clean install.
