What do you guys think of this as an upgrade? Will they be compatible? Thanks in advance.

The Hitachi seems to have gotten good reviews and at $66 shipped AR it seems like a good deal. I'm looking for something fast reliable and that's not loud or whiny is it the right one for me?

Which is a good choice for ram? So far I'm running 2x1 gig pc5300 ddr2 will I have any compatibility issues? Does the brand matter?

Thinking about this seems reasonably price and has a CAS Latency of 4.

For the HDD, I would go with the WD Scorpio. They are very quiet and very reliable. They won't let you down! Also, buying from Newegg.com is probably the best buying experience you can get online. Good luck!

Almost any advice out there on what drives to use is really based on the personal experience of that person. I have heard good things about Western Digital drives (owning many myself) as well as Hitachis, although they reputedly run a little warmer and seem to produce more noise.

Yes, all those components would be compatible with the MBP.
