I want to purchase the seagate 1TB HDD from best buy to install into my new MacBook Pro (Late 2008). How do i install it? Will it fit? Do i need an apple tech guy to install it for warranty issues? How does it all work?

wont work. there are no 1tb 2.5" SATA drives. you need a laptop hard drive to do the switch.

Apple has made it brainlessly easy to install a new hard drive, you can easily do it yourself. Just take off the battery cover and switch the HD's! -
a 1TB HDD (a deskotp 3.5" HDD) woul actually be thicker than the MBP itself, so you definitely can't put it in your MBP, unless you are a physics and engineering mastermind.
2.5" HDD, 500GB, mmm good. -
The WD5000BEVT would be the largest and best option.
There have been some Macbook owners complaining about noise though:
