Has any one tried installing a G5 quad core into a PowerMac single core? or does anyone know if is it possible? I was just wondering, I know that the Graphics cards are interchangeable but was not sure about the processor

Never heard anyone try that, but I strongly doubt that it is even remotely possible. The G5 was never intended for notebook use.

If you're talking about the G4 tower, the same applies to my knowledge-they are completely different machines.

I understand that the notebooks are rarely upgradeable, but the PowerMac is a desktop

Nice to meet a fellow Volvo driver :)

I believe that is pretty much not possible. As I remember this is why Macs had daughter boards. There really is no upgrade path for the PowerPC Macs that I know of.
