I have a really old computer that has its CD-RW broken..

It's completely riddled with viruses, spyware, random applications, almost everything you can imagine.

I have a WinXP CD that I can use to format the computer, but I don't want to spend any money on external CD drives.

Now that I'll be getting my MBP back in a couple days, I'm wondering if there's a way to use the MBP's DVD drive as my old computer's, somehow connecting them so I can wipe the old computer again.

    Thanks.

Maybe you can do it over a network?

You should be able to set your DVD as a shared drive, then, as SaferSephiroth suggests, connect over a network. There are sites all over the web that will show you how to connect a Mac to a PC. You won't, however, be able to boot the PC from the Mac DVD (I don't believe).
