    1. I'm assuming if I buy a Macbook from apple, it's not going to come loaded automatically with VISTA, is it? Where would I be able to buy the MAC vista, and how much does it cost?

    2. iWork or Mac Office?

    3. Many people complain that VISTA is extremely slow on their PC, even with 2gigs of Ram, a dedicated video card, and 2.0Ghz core 2 duo. Macbooks don't even come with a dedicated video. How has that turned out while running on vista?

1.You just get the latest Boot Camp and buy a new Vista, it's not Mac vista.
    2.iWork.
3.On parallels you share ram with mac osx and vista, on bootcamp you use 1 os upon boot and it uses all the ram. With 2GB you shouldn't have any problems. It might drain more power than OSX.

More about boot camp and parallels here.
You can get 2*1GB rams here for 70$.

Sorry I don't get it. To have XP I need to get the boot camp (downloadable?) and buy the VISTA program, correct? Hmmm, if that's the case, probably not worth it for now (for me). Can't spend an extra $200 or $300 or whatever it is on an extra vista OS.

Wow. Where are you bringing XP into the equation now?

    Its very simple:
you need to buy a macbook.
you need to buy XP OR Vista.
you need to download bootcamp. free.
you then install bootcamp on the macbook, which allows you to run a secondary operating sytem. ie, XP or Vista.

As for how Vista will run on a macbook, i couldnt tell you. it has an integrated card that shares memory. max out the ram, and i'm sure you will be fine.

my suggestion? buy a macbook, and a copy of XP pro. best of both worlds. stay away from vista.

I think the newest Macbooks have dedicated video memory, or at least Vista says it is, but I run Vista Ultimate on a Macbook pro 17'' with no slow downs, so you should be fine
