So I installed W7 using BootCamp so I could boot up natively if I ever needed anything...
However... I still havent figured out how to get the internet working on it...
I've tried NAT, Bridged and Host only...
I definitely think it's a Driver thing... does anybody know what drivers I need for my 2.4GHz Alu. Unibody MacBook under W7 in VMware?
What I really really want to do is use the VMware Fusion>Preferences>Default Applications and use:
-Open Mail (mailto) with: ***
[I want to use Windows Live Mail because its offline and online and fully hotmail and just... perfect]
-Open Web Pages (http, https) with: ***
[I use Safari and Firefox alot but using Google Chrome would be nice, and... Quake Live on Internet Explorer Anyone? Heck Yeah!!! Your Welcome for this idea haha]

Seems like no one really knows anything about Networking problems with Windows 7 on VMware
-
Try in the Windows forum. I think you'll get more responses there.
Also, post this problem in the W7 bug thread
-
My bad, didnt see that... haha
Its ok I reinstalled W7 using Bootcamp again and my internet works...
But I fear that once I use VMware again it will be all messed up again =/ -
Had the same problem. I tried fixing it for about 5 minutes and called it quits. If I am in VMWare I just surf from Firefox within OS X. Otherwise wifi worked fine in Boot Camp.

OMG
I NEED IT!!!
Hence:

Tried going into the network settings and telling VMWare to share the Mac's network connection with the virtual machine? Just booted VMWare and tried that and it actually worked.

there is a very easy fix in that you have to edit a script.. cant find the thread.. but someone posted here and it worked liked magic on mine
-
There is a quick fix for it that I did using VMWare Workstation and Windows 7. I'll see if I can find it again.
Edit: Found this: http://communities.vmware.com/thread/186482?tstart=0
Basically open up the VMX file in a text editor and insert the line:
ethernet0.virtualDEV = "e1000"
Save the file, and now try booting the virtual machine.
