I bought my MBP Dec 31 2008 and activated it on Jan 1 2009. I looked up my warantee status and it says I still have warantee until March 2010, does this mean I can still buy the extended Applecare?

Doesn't make sense to me why I got 3 months extra.

wow.. lucky you ... but if you're looking to get apple care anyways... then just go ahead and get it ... and then bother about this 2 yrs down the line ! :) you might want to look into other retail sites for apple care.. there are some pretty good deals you can get instead of buying it at maxium retail price from apple directly.

Weird, after reading your post I went to check my warranty, and found out Apple gave me 4 months free. Bought it in August 09.

I have had this mbp swapped out 5 times (meaning 5 brand new units). The last time it was swapped out was in Dec, so I guess when they switched over my warranty/info to this new mbp, they just forgot to do the warrenty. Fine by me.

I've spoken to Apple before about a computer that did not have a 'purchase date'. I was told they can warranty it based on the manufacturing date plus 3 months. Since you already had a purchase on record, you might of just gotten lucky.
