I have been playing the Warhammer Online Open Beta on my newish Macbook Pro 15" and after around 30 minutes the laptop is so hot it burns your skin!

I was using the laptop on my lap and it really hurt... ok stop laughing :p.

Anyway, does anyone know of some kind of cooling that can be used on the lap?

    Thanks.

Quite right! I haven't seen this before, looks like it will do the trick nicely! I'll get one of these asap.

My Macbook Pro seems to run at an average of 60-70c max after playing a game for an hour or two. Is this ok?

Yeah, that's more than ok, that's fine. Playing Warhammer in windowed mode I get around 77-80C average... everything else gets me above 80, haha.

Macbook Pro + any game = frying pan.

well I have Dell XPS M1530 LAPTOP and it gets very hot as well while on my lap so much so it has left marks on my leg. I have called dell and they said it is defective and they are sending me a whole new system. So yes there is something wrong if they are getting too hot, they are not supposed to get that hot, mine gets too hot on the keyboard and toward the back of the keyboard toward the screen as well. But yes my laptop leaves marks if I don't put a towel doubled up on my left leg to stop the burn marks.

I think the macbook pro gets to 70 degree C after 1 hour of game play is more reasonable than my macbook.

My macbook almost instantly gets up to 70 degree C when watching videos from youtube. Is this normal??? o_O

I basically think that if you want to play games, then you want to put the laptop on the desk., otherwise, 1. it is hard to control the move 2. you lose balance.

    just my 2 cents.
