i just won a macbook pro on ebay. heres the link:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290256412741
as you can see i won it for $1325. I work at best buy and it costs $2000 new there. so, did i get a good deal? (still havent paid yet lol) oh, and this is gonna be my first mac experience

This disturbs me.
The item has been tested and appears to be in good working order.
NOTE: There is a small bump on the back of the LCD screen
You should ask for the ACTUAL photos first. -
theres a picture of it right next to the description. looks very small. other than that. what do you think?
-
also, would i be able to use my logitech revolution mouse?
-
Ok, I thought they were stock because it said "photos shown maybe stock".
Here is the large pic of that bump incase you haven't seen it yet.

yea i saw. it seems negligible. well other than that one thing, hows the deal? it brings all the orignal stuff and even the box. Also, would i still be under apples 1 year manu. warranty since it has been a year since that model has been out?
-
I'd say it's a good deal, go for it. Just be sure about the warranty.
-
Depends on when the laptop was first used. Should have asked for the serial number if you were concerned about he warranty. Seems like a decent deal if you really don't care about that little bump.
And you can use the logitech mouse fine. -
This looks like a 2007 model with the Santa Rosa chipset. While I'd say it looks like a good deal, I do not think the warranty is still available for it. $1325 is a pretty good deal for it, considering it retails for $2000. That bump is a bit alarming however.
-
dont count on it with a bump on the LCD lid. Ive heard horror stories of warranties being voided because of dents.
-
just got it this morning and omg. i LOVE it. this thing looks BRAND new. and the dent? you cant even tell its there. question though, is there like s stress program that test out all the hardware on a mac?
-
first drop already! **** itttttttt. lol a small dent by the power adapter. i was sooo mad. other than that, i put boot camp and installed cod4. runs at max settings perfect. VERY impressed so far. Just a little ticked off that its so hard to install a HD in there. i work in geek squad and even i dont want them to do it for me. lol
-
It is not so hard to swap the drive. Plenty of good information out there as how to go about it. Congrats on a good deal!
cheers ... -
Yeah that little bump is scaring me just looking at it on the MBP. It will definitely void the warranty that the LCD screen is dented and that the notebook has a dent on it overall neverless the screen. If your not worried about the dent then its a good deal.
-
Don't bid on an item you are not willing to pay for. It really screws the seller over. You bid on an item, you buy it (with the exception of scams).
That being said, if that small bump is the only thing wrong withe the MBP, you got yourself a very good deal.
-edit note to self: read entire thread before posting
Was this a good deal?
