    Hi!

My friend once told that macbooks' cameras didnt work with skype, is that true? or have they fixed it.. cause i use it everyday as i leave away from home and this would be a big dealbreaker for me..

so is it possible to use the webcam on skype? and does that mean that i can call someone on a windows machine or am i restricted to calling macs?

I am pretty sure that with Skype you are free to call whomever you want, Mac or PC users.

There's no reason that it wouldn't work on skype. I'm on my mbp and using skype to video call a windows user. It works fine.

Maybe you are confusing Skype with MSN. Skype works fine with video, MSN on OS X does not.

can confirm that skype works with issue on my 2 mb's, regardless of who I call... ie pc or a mac.

although I must say that the isight is far better quality wise than the average pc webcam, the images we get are horrible and grainy, while my fridends and family see me in crystal clear, perhaps the only time having a mac is not a benefit to me but to my pc friends.. lol

    :)

I use Skype often and have no problem on my 2.16 MBP. Took me a little while to find the icon to click, though, but it does work. And not only Mac to Mac, but I regularly communicate with Windows users around the world.

skype works perfectly fine, and i can do video chatting with anybody who use skype.

MSN for mac sucks! it does not support video chatting or even voice chatting for personal account

I also use skype to talk to my parents overseas all the time and the video from the webcam works fine...they have a pc so no problem there.
