I am getting some weird battery life here.
I am on 70% brightness with wifi on, bluetooth off and my battery life said 3 hours of battery life. 94% of battery life left. smcFan ran at 2k rpm. I am running Chrome and NewsNetWire which are non-graphic intensive programs.
Is this weird??

Is it on the mac you used to have? Or is this the new 2010 one? I get around 2 something something hours on os X now coz my battery health is at 76%. It's not bad considering i've had over 500 charge cycles and the battery is 1.5 years old. You could try activity monitor and try to see if there are any third party apps which are eating up your cpu time.

I get about 8hrs of internet, IM and Email on my 2010 MacBook Pro.
Make sure none of the apps you are running are enabling the nvidia card. -
I am using gfx card status to make sure that I am on the intel card.
yes it is 2010 mbp, i guess it's time to bring to some genius guy -

Came to apple store, and they swap the battery for me
.
Now my battery is brand new with 0 cycles & 100% health -
flash performance is not good with chrome on OSX , i experience high temperatures (high CPU usage) , when i browse intensive flash sites from chrome , so be sure ur not browsing flash content , or try to disable it while running on battery

I know that and that's why I switch to youtube HTML5 -
how do you switch to youtube html 5? How many hours are you having now?It should be at least 7.
-
There are a few of them, but not all of them. I recommend to use chrome for them. HTML5 run fast! -
did you have applecare?
-
I'm going to assume he did, as a battery replacement would've been a pretty penny, and he probably would've mentioned it
-
Keep in mind that Chrome triggers the Nvidia chip to become active. So, while you're surfing with Chrome, you're using the energy sucking video card.
