OK so this is a weird bug of some sort, and I can't figure out what's causing it. Basically, my colors fade randomly in Safari and even in Finder. It's like the blues go grey. If I highlight the offending lines or folders in e.g. Safari and Finder, they light up the correct colors. Gah it's hard to explain what I mean. Even the smilies to my right as I type this look faded/washed out but if I drag a box around them and then move the cursor away, they look normal again.

Does this make sense to anyone?

    Thanks for the help.

No idea what it might be...but have you calibrated your screen?

I don't have a problem like that, but I use Firefox. There is however a keyboard glitch in OS X Leopard where sometimes a keystroke isn't recognized. So if you hit tab to type into a particular text field and start typing, not knowing that it wasn't properly activated, you'll eventually hit a key or combination that could "Select All" and when you select everything in a window, it will Grey out the graphics.

No it's neither of those things. I have no such issue using Firefox. It's odd because if I scroll up and down the page in Safari, it fixes the problem and then it comes back. Gah! So hard to explain. It's a very odd bug...

I have the same behaviour - safari only, 10.5.3, colors fade while scrolling, happens on the main screen and also on external monitors. Did you ever figure out anything about this?

Have you tried calibrating the screen?

Wow I'd forgotten all about this. I'd reinstalled OS X ages ago and it fixed it....
