Hey guys,
I just received my Apple Macbook today... and I have to say that I LOVE it so far. Everything worked right out of the box (which is surprisingly small, btw).
Just a few observations:
- The fan is a little loud (when it comes on)... but I guess that's kind of normal considering I came from a 15" Asus that was virtually silent
- The "delete" key is somewhat dodgey... I always have to press it EXACTLY in the center to get it to register
- The screen is awesome; the 13.3" form factor is practically perfect
- OS X leopard is simple and easy to use. I haven't figured everything out yet, but I'm sure I'll get used to it quickly.
I'm definitely a proud (and happy) new Apple user![]()

Awesome! Mine should be coming today...
Let us know what you think when you have played with it a little more -
Woot, AuroraS! Two Sams from Vancouver, BC, using a white MacBook!
And two moderators named Sam too now
.
-
Congrats on becoming a mod, Sam. Really though, it was only a matter of time... haha.
-
Wow, Sam you're a mod now? Congratulations!

-
Yeaps! Just turned moderator today. Thanks for the congratulations
.
-
Welcome to the club AuroraS! What club is it anyways? Can I join? Do you have to be Canadian?
Congratulations Sam! It was overdue. Now I have to be more careful with what I post in the Apple Forum.
-
I swear, I'm getting the Edit and Quote buttons mixed up...if you suddenly see my reply inside your post, its because I pressed Edit instead of Quote
.
And the club? Oh, the requirements are simple. You gotta be a Sam living in Vancouver using a white MacBook.
And as long as you're posting things within forum rules, nothing I can do without getting myself in trouble
.

stealthsniper96 What Was I Thinkin'?
haha ill wait for that to happen -
Oh, and AuroraS/Sam, just making sure, but have you read these two guides yet? They'll really help you learn the ways of OS X and such

Congratulations!
Did you switch from PC? Or are you running both windows and Leopard? -
I switched from a PC... not sure if I'll install XP with Bootcamp.
-
my macbook delete key is fine... no need to press it in the center.... are you sure you're one is not faulty?
hey sam is a moderator now! -
I'm pretty sure I just type with very light pressure... I think I baby my machines too much
-
It is funny you say that. I just retired my desktop and just now noticed how loud it was! With only the MBP on it is complete silence. I will say when the fans do fire up all the way they do get rather loud, but for normal use I don't hear mine. Kinda disturbing actually, I miss the background noise.
-
Congrats AuroraS!
Welcome to the family!
Also congrats Sam! -
Actually... after updating to Leopard 10.5.1, the computer is quite silent. I don't hear the fan anymore
I love silence... -
Oh, I'd also like to add that I'm fairly impressed with the speakers on the MB... they're louder than other laptop speakers Ive seen, and the sound is quite crisp. Definitely a plus.
-
I've heard Apple fixed up the speakers with the new MacBooks...and glad to hear its pretty good. My MacBook speakers are okay, but definitely lacking bass sound.
Welcome me to the club!
