This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    I've taken advantage of the Black Friday sale on Apple.com and bought myself a new SR MacBook (The 2.2Ghz white version). Saved $101! Wahoo!!!

    This will be replacing my much loved 12" 1.33Ghz G4 PowerBook. I will be very sad to let her go, but I think I will be very happy with the replacement. I'm selling the G4 to a friend of mine, so at least I can visit every now and then. :D

    Anyways I plan on submitting a full review on here after I receive the MacBook and install the 2GB's of RAM I bought from crucial.com.

    About submitting a review...unfortunately, NBR already has a few MacBook reviews, and although they aren't Santa Rosa MacBooks, there hasn't been much change. So we might not need any more official MacBook reviews (like ones that go on the NotebookReview front page). But you're more than welcome to write an unofficial review here on the Apple forum :).

    Sounds good, my little brother has been eyeing the low end Macbooks for quite some time. It would be nice to see a review with the newer Santa Rosa model.

    No not as of yet. I ordered it on friday night. But suprisingly I already got a shipping notice this morning (Saturday). So *fingers crossed* I will have it by the end of next week.

    I have a nice camera standing ready for the momentous occasion to take the obligatory pictures of the unboxing process. :D
