But they were all sold out!I knew i shoulda called before i drove 40 min. He said they probably wouldnt get any tomorrow witht he iPhone and all. All they had was the 2.4 model. I was about $100 short of getting that and the iPod. I am going to call the stores about 2 hrs away from me tomorrow. If they have it I will drive to get it. No big deal. Off day tomorrow.
Everyone i talk to at resellers are saying it will probably be about 2 weeks. I dont know if i believe them because they are losing buisness to the apple online store and the official stores because they dont allow the student discount or the iPod deal. On the website it says 5-7 days for shipping.

you should buy one from online instead of driving 2 hours. and get the ipod.

You should call them to check. You get a free ipod and if they don't have one then you save yourself some 3.50 a gallon gas, both ways. =) Good luck on your search, I would love a macbook pro but I just spent my MBP money on an engagement ring, lol, it was worth it though

Ok, i just called and neither the Indianapolis store or the Columbus store has them in stock. I think i might just go to Compusa. The only thing about that is instead of the student discount they said they would give me a $200-300 gift card to purchase accessories with. Not a BAD deal...just dont get the iPod deal. I dont mind tho. I would rather pay a little more than wait +/- 2 weeks for it to get to me. I need a computer for class asap.

I can get there and back on less than a tank of gas and it only costs me about $30-$35 to fill up. I think i am going to borrow $100 for my g/f if they dont have the 2.2 tomorrow.

Sum it up, $100.00-35.00=$65.00.
You spend $35.00 to drive 2 hrs when you could be doing something else then when you get home you will realize you could have had a better machine for an additional $65.00.
To each his own, but I had to break it down to the ridiculous for you because I would hate to see someone miss out on opportunity for a small price difference. Good luck and post back on the one you get, we'll support your decision.
BTW, is this some student discount? Why is it only $100.00 between the 2.2 and the 2.4? It's $500 for what I see on Apple's website. -
Today and this weekend are just not good times to be trying to get into an Apple store anyway
Everyone will be rushed and hectic and that will affect your buying experience as well. Apple's been shipping pretty well from online as it is and they'll even upgrade your shipment to 2-day international or next-day if you ask - even the 7200rpm HDD configured ones shipped this week, so there really shouldn't be many delays left.

just get the 2.2 ghz version.
its sweet. my friend got that one. its basically just as fast. dont make yourself poor for your computer. -
Yeah driving down there 2 hrs isn't such a great idea...what if there's a problem with it? will you be able to return it to your local apple store? Gas is way cheaper in the US...last summer it got to $1.65 PER LITRE! 4 L = 1 Gallon...

I got a Macbook Pro 2.2 today. I bought it at bestbuy. Surprisingly they matched the Apple student discount price. They sold it to me for 1799. I didnt get the iPod but who cares. I already have an MP3 player. I was just getting it cuz it was $200 off.
Went to get my MBP today!
