    I just noticed this...

I use my laptop as a desktop and main computer at home. 95% of the time it stays on my desk and plugged in. After about a year of use, I just noticed that although I only have about 20 cycles on battery, the health of it is down to just 47%. When I unplug it, the battery can only run on itself for an hour at max on power savings. If I get a new mbp or even a new battery, I don't want to make the same mistake... For those of you guys who use your macs the same way as I do, what do you do preserve the battery?? One method that I heard of is to take the battery out and just run it by plugging in. In that case, where do you put your batteries for preserving?

Mabye you should calibrate the battery, and then see what your health and how long your charge is. I leave my MB plugged in most of the time, and let it run down till it sleeps only once in a while (once every 3-4 weeks), and my battery health is at 99%, and holding a 6 hour charge while idle.

Just to add, some times merely letting it go till it sleeps isn't enough. When it goes to sleep, wait about 20 sec then hit the space bar or something to try and wake it up. If it wakes up use it until it dies again. Once it dies recharge it all the way with out unplugging it. Like charger said, you should do this about once a month to keep your batter healthy.
