Hi, guys I was about to order a 17" MackBook Pro and I kinda need it now and I was not sure if I should wait for apple to update there MacBook Pro line then buy it. I am going to be doing a lot of VMware on my laptop and would like to have quad core but what do you guys think should I hold off on buying the current 17" MacBook Pro?

You said you needed it now, buy it. Apple has never updated the MBP's or Powerbook line in under 6 months. Remember, they came out in June. Possibly february to march you might see bump in the lineup.

Buy it now since you need it. Like HLdan said they will probably not update the line for a while since they did it pretty recently. I doubt they could use the current i7 processors since they are too power hungry and generate too much heat, but when they release the refresh of that processor line(32nm) sometime in 2010, then Apple will update.

you should probably be more concerned with holding off on your purchase of vmware.

vmware 3 is coming out in like 4-5 days.

Man... I hope vmware 3 is all it's cracked up to be. I wanna be able to run FFXI, counterstrike source, and TF2 in it. =D

Buy the 17"!!! Do it! =D
