I think it can be agreed that macs are more expensive and less powerful than other machines on the market. So my question is: why buy a mac if you can get more for less elsewhere? I'm sure I must be missing something important, I just haven't figured it out yet.

I've always thought the same thing. I have owned PC's for over 10 years and had to buy a Mac after my computer crashed and love it. I have a 15" MacBook Pro i5. Its not as powerful but boot time is the same as my Windows PC. Yes I said its the same cause it is. My mac boots the exact same as my Windows 7 Professional install with everything enabled. My hardware on my PC was far superior to the Mac but the Mac has some very nice features and they have Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare for Mac. Most games are PC only. Mac has a few but not as many. The screen resolution is great with the clarity and all.

I am advanced when it comes to PC, I still have a lot to learn but I am quite knowledgably about them and how to fix issues. Mac isn’t really that hard to learn after having it for a day I have pretty much figured most of it out. I still have a lot on the Mac to learn but can do anything I need and more.

The EFI boot is awesome compared to Bios systems. I am a fan of OS X Snow Leopard now, but still find the need for Windows. I’m just very please with the UI on most programs for the Mac over windows. I also like how the Apple update will update drivers, software, and firmware all at once.
