This question could have been easily avoided by searching.

His answer could have just as easily been received by making a post here and asking a question. As you can see someone was willing to offer an answer. The OP got their answer and the individual who answered the question felt good he or she was able to contribute to the community which I am sure they frequent often and have also learned much from.

And just so you know sometimes you learn things just by reading a question. In this case, I didn't even know MBP came with a 8600M GT card with DDR3. So I am glad the OP made the post just for that.

For both posters in this thread who contributed nothing, please just move on next time.

If it is a bother to you that you are reading the same question (whose answer is easily found at other places on the Internet) or that the question is not good enough for you it helps no one that you share that opinion.

Everyone learns from these forums which is why they come here.

Also, I did extensive researching (took me 20 minutes of searching for the answer before I gave up).

And I agree with AmarKap, the point of the forum is to ask questions and get answers and to inform people. You should assume I already tried to look it up, and give the benefit of the doubt because this is a community where people help people.

    30 seconds of search :)

very bottom...got the part number from my apple cart, and just google it with " release date", second hit.

people just like to jump on other people on forums, its how it works :(

there are a select few that know everything, and they get tired of seeing people that just cant find easy answers on the WWW.

there are also others that like to use forums for what they are, which is fine.

Im in the middle, but my search methods are better than most, as you can see in my previous post.

dont worry about the people that sling the "do a search next time" card. They obviously have nothing better to do. Now if they answer your questions, and sling the "search card", tough luck :)

Ok enough with the search thing. It is no big deal, it's not like it is a question we get all the time, so lay off.

Anyway, I believe the 8600M GT has always been GDDR 3.

Yeah, the MacBook Pro had an 8600M GT DDR3 from the start...when it was updated to Santa Rosa in June 2007.
