    When you first power on your MBP does it make a funny noise?

    When I first hit the power on button of my MBP just for a second or 2 it makes a noise like the disk drive or hard drive is seeking or something.

    Is that normal? After that it powers up great with no issues.

    I get a noise from my disk drive, as if it's checking for a disk. But that's all.

    Yes, on boot up it checks if there's a disk in the drive first off. That's the noise you're hearing.

    When you put a disc in, that's a different noise then I'm used to. Squeaks a little bit.
