Or where is a good place to buy ram. Anything but not official apple store as it is so overpriced there.
-
it should work. as long as it's pc8500 1066mgz, it will work. apple memory is like any other ram. good luck for the purchase.

newegg.com
Mac specific ram = ripoff -
+1 or Amazon.com, just search for the specific make/model you need. eBay is just a PITA IMHO for a purchase as simple as a RAM upgrade. Crucial 4GB (2x2GB kit) DDR3 sodimm from Amazon is only $79.62

+1 I found good deals at newegg.com for memory. Check out the Crucial memory, its cheaper at newegg than at crucial.com

i 2nd newegg.com
almost always you can find good deals on computer parts there. -
Best to get samsung ram i heard some ram chips in kingston modules are not compatible.
-
I bought RAM from OWC http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/apple/memory/ and they work grate just check to see what model you have.
-
Not worth it pretty much overpriced due to the "Mac" branding they associate with the RAM.
Best bet is the Samsung RAM Modules guaranteed compatibility as Macbooks original RAM is Samsung RAM Modules. -
If you have the latest macbook pro just get any DDR3 laptop ram. Its not rocket science people.
-
No from what I heard Macbooks are picky about what RAM they will accept there are some JEDEC DDR3 modules that will not work on Macbooks.
-
I'm using Mushkin ram and it runs fine.
-
That is probably because Apple barely meets the JEDEC specifications. Pair that with a memory module that also barely meets the JEDEC specification, and then all of a sudden things do not work the way you expect them too.

ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..
Crucial 2x2GB flawless in the 3 I've got them in....
-
I got some OCZ 2GB sticks for my 13" MBP. Works a treat, didn't have any issues like other had.
Where to buy RAM for MacBook Pro - is ebay safe?
