I am tossing up if the top end model of the mb is really worth the extra ~300euro.
I'm typing here in the dark with no problems, so i figure the backlit keyboard is not essential. Thus that just leaves the cpu. I really doubt that I will notice a huge difference in real world usage, but I could be wrong.
What do u guys think?
ps I have a 250gb drive that I will put in post purchase. And both will have the max 4Gb ram.

Well if you don't mind spending 300 Euro for 400 MHz and some light under the keyboard, go for it.
Personally, I wouldn't. -
Save your money. If you don't need the backlit keyboard, don't pay for it!
I'm pretty sure you won't really feel the extra 400 MHz in your daily use either... -
I personally would go with the low end MB because of obviously the cheaper price, but it has alot of the the features of the high end MB for alot cheaper also. For example, the LED screen. You get the same screen with both Laptops. Next is the hard drive. If you have the already big hard drive that you said in the post then you'll be fine in that category. Then we have RAM. You'll be getting DDR3 RAM in this MB with a 1066mhz bus or w/e it is called. That is verry fast RAM. Plus, if you have 4gb of it then that is Great! More RAM makes a computer faster than a computer with a considerably faster cpu. Also, i thought that the backlit keyboard was with all models, although i may be wrong. The trackpad is the same on both MB's. So I would choose the 2.0ghz because the price is right for what you get compared to what the other one has and what you are planning to upgrade it to. Anyways, Good luck!

I did go with the lower end model as (IN MY OPINION) an increase in 400 MHz, 90GB or HD space, and back-lit keyboard did not justify the extra 300$/euro we have to pay for. You would hardly notice the difference in the 400 MHz in normal usage, you can always upgrade new HD with the pop openable back that allows the switching of HD to be much simpler, and I never had to type in the dark before....save your money is my suggestion.....but I am really glad that the new lower end MB is priced at this range.

True. it's amazing how many people believe they need 2.4 while they hardly need 2.0Ghz.
Investing money in a harddrive and memory is more beneficial for most users, unless you do a lot of CPU intensive stuff.
But then again, upgrading harddrive and memory is easy. I don't know about CPU. -

Thanks everyone for the response's. Looks like the cheaper model is the way to go. Now I just have to convince the wife. Hopefully will get one in the next few weeks.

Even though you've made your decision, I'm going to chime in . . . and agree with everyone else. All other things being equal (ram, HDD, screen, etc), I'd go with the 2.0Ghz and save the 400euro. I don't know that you'll miss the extra .4Ghz in your daily usage.
Which mb should I get 2gh or 2.4 ???
