So I'm considering adding a MBP to the family. Right now on the Apple Store there is a refurbished 13" MBP 2.4GHz with a 250GB HDD for $999. There is also a refurbished 13" MBP 2.66GHz with a 320GB HDD for $1269.
Is there any reason to take the 2.66 over the 2.4? I realize a refresh is likely coming in April, however the cash for the MBP won't be around by then (bathroom remodel coming in the spring).

ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..
You're paying $270 for a slightly faster cpu and 70GB of hdd space ... there appears to be no other difference between the units.
1. Unless you do a lot of video encoding or editing work, the CPU performance difference is unlikely to even be noticeable to you for any daily activity you throw at it. You're looking at a 5-10% performance bump, max ... this is negligible for routing daily uses.
2. For $65-70, you can get both a new 500GB drive and external USB enclosure from Newegg, clone and put it into the $999 unit, saving you $200 for that remodel. You could then go sell the old drive on eBay and recoup $15-20 of the cost.
I would suggest you take the least expensive option, and execute point #2 if you want to improve your purchase. One of Apple's sole faults in my opinion is that their stock unit HDDs are not compatible (too small) with today's increasingly multimedia collections that folks have, which just creates more work for me when we upgrade our family notebooks.

I knew the only diff between the units was HDD space and processor speed and I didn't think $270 would be worth the speed increase and the HDD size but it never hurts to check and see if you're missing something.
I'm probably going to pull the trigger on the $999 unit tonight. -
The more expensive model is definitely not worth it. Go for 2.4 @ $999.

Micro center store has brand new mbp for $999
Why buy refurbished -
Micro center was/is sold out.
Pulled the trigger on the 13" 2.4GHz model last night. Hope to have it by the middle of next week. -
Congrats, enjoy!
I've been waiting for like half a year to get my first MacBook... Still waiting for a refreshed 13" MBP. -
I know you already bought the unit, but I agree with everyone here, the $999 is a great laptop.
So another +1 (not that you needed that)
Which refurb MBP?
