This might not be the best place to ask about PC software.
Windows OS and Software -
this is not the correct forum for your question. should be moved to the Windows forum.
-
So you bought a laptop knowing that you don't want to spend the time to use OS that runs natively on it. Instead you paid way more than you should have for a windows laptop.
-
Shoo, go away PC.
-
I'm gonna buy an HP then rant in their forum about how I can't install OSX and run it and Logic Pro properly.
har har har. -
Priceless!!
-
I don't think I ranted or complained, but I did say I liked imovie and wanted to know if there was a windows alternative.
-
I don't find anything wrong with his post at all. I just see a bunch of people here acting like brats.
-
I can understand why they are treating him this way after looking through his 60+ posts since he joined in January. Since he joined he's claimed to have bought (who knows maybe he did actually buy them) a Dell Adamo, 2 HP envy's and a Studio XPS 1645. He also owns a Studio 1747, Precision M4400 and an XPS 1530.
On 4/26/2010 he didn't even own a Mac and was just thinking about it.
3 days later he's "testing out" a MBP.
The next day (can't quote from closed thread) he's posting that he cannot find his Mac files from his windows computers. He posted that he likes iMovie but couldn't find the file once he exported it. He also complains about a bunch of other new user stuff and how Windows is so much better. I responded back to him with some tips and links for information on how to correctly do things but got no response.
Now he's decided not to keep it (I'm a PC). His history sounds a little fishy but who knows it could be true. He posts problems, doesn't respond to solutions but maybe he didn't see it. In this thread he said he doesn't want to learn a new system and really likes Windows 7 (so why even look at Mac?). In the end he talks about how the Mac isn't for him and asks Mac users to recommend a PC alternative to Mac programs which makes no sense at all. We have the programs that work why would we even be looking for an alternative, let alone one that is for a PC. Just seems like flame bait to me.
Like I said, we could be wrong but the evidence doesn't look to go in his favor. -
I, like most users of NBR who have a lot of posts, am not an average notebook user that has just one laptop. If I was line of work that would have me come across a lot of these different types of notebooks, I would have access to all of the notebooks in my previous posts, wouldn't I? I don't own a lot of the laptops that i talk about in my previous posts, but they were all in my possession at one point. don't be quick to assume someone is lying. every single question i have posted here deals with a legitimate concern i had.

In the last 3 months I have had an ENVY15, VIAO CW, ENVY13, New i5 MBP, a Toshiba, a u230, and now my current MBP.
It's very hard to find a laptop you like when you are picky. -
if you want another laptop, you could return it to apple before the 21 days are over.

Well, I did say I could be wrong.
I noticed you skipped over my other points and concentrated on the convenient one.
So if I test drive a car for five minutes, does it give me the experience necessary to accurately critique it? You posted that YOUR Mac (didn't state in the post that you were test driving and gave the impression that it was owned by you) "just doesn't work" when it came to viewing shared files on your W7 PC. I cannot find anywhere on the forums where you tried to find a solution other than this quote which wasn't really the same issue.
I have no problems seeing shared files between my MBP and a Vista PC so W7 should work just as well if not better. I gave you information on how to see your shared files in the thread where you complained that it didn't work but received no response. You openly stated that you are a PC who likes Windows 7 and doesn't want to learn a new OS but have no problems bashing it for things when you don't know what you are talking about. In this thread you talk about why you don't want a Mac and ask for us to give you PC software suggestions and think it won't be seen as trolling? -
Thank you for posting this. I will be showing your comments to my girlfriend...I'm going through the same test-return-test dilemna.

solution: dial down your expectations. there is no such thing as a perfect laptop. decide what you *need* and what you're willing to compromise on.
not only is indecisiveness unattractive, but you're affecting the companies who now have to sell your damn returns as "refurbished/used". -
So while you have been buying and returning I have installed every program I need and have tweaked and OC'd everything to my liking. You must really like all the free samples at yogurt places especially when you leave without buying anything.

seriously.

it's probably not free. i'm sure at least some places charge a restocking fee.
Why I like the macbook pro but won't be keeping it
