In OSX, in Safari, I can add bookmarks to the bar just under the address bar. They show up as buttons I can click and it takes me to that bookmark. I love this feature, because I don't have to type in the address all the time.
However, in Windos Vista, I can't seem to find a feature like that. I mean, there is the favorites, but you have to click on Favorites and then click on your favorite. That is annoying, I just want one click and go.
Is there such a thing in Windows Vista?

One word for you; firefox
-
I agree, get firefox. Its alot better than IE.
-
Firefox x3. They also have Safari for Windows if youre so inclined.
-
Yeah, you can't do that with the bookmarks in IE.
But you can check out http://www.ie7.com
-
This is a joke right. Because IE7 is quite capable of doing this.
-
you just need to bring up a bookmarks toolbar, in either IE, Safari, or Firefox.
-
Doesn't matter if IE 7 is capable of doing it or not. Firefox is a MUCH better than IE and is quickly becoming the new standard. People need to be moving to it in anycase.
-
Agreed, and also much better (and less of a resource hog) than Safari. I always use FF on any Windows or Mac rig I use.
-
I like Safari, Firefox, and IE7. Basically all of them can have extensions added to them so in reality all can perform whatever feature you want to "borrow" from the other browser.
Firefox though makes it much easier to manage add-ons... -
It matters because the OP asked whether or not it could be done. That's why it matters.
-
For the sake of helping someone, ok cool. But IE sucks, plain and simple. Move on people.
-
maybe it's better to create some extensive list of things that you deem is better instead of saying it sucks plain and simple move on people.
-
As others have said, make sure you have the bookmarks toolbar active in IE.
BTW, those that say IE sucks are working on old info. IE7 is actually a half-way decent browser unlike IE6. While it is a little slower than say Safari or Firefox, and does not have extensions like Firefox, it is easily as secure, if not more secure, especially with Vista, and will work with any page out there. My order of preference for Windows would be Firefox, IE7, and Safari as a distant third. -
IE7 is generally only good with Vista...it sucks on XP. My job has XP and IE7 just didn't work. So now FF is generally used. Safari...it works for macs...I would never put it on a normal PC, even though Apple tries too get you to download it on the install updates with iTunes.
