hello, i've just bought a VX revolution for my soon to be MBP. right now i use the mouse for my macbook, i'm very very satified with it.. for a few days that is...

but now, i've just got some disturbing news when the computer is sleeping, and i move the mouse; the computer would wake up from sleep. is this also what happens with wireless mighty mouse? or any other wired/wireless mouse for that matter?

would this still occur if you install the driver?

oh, and do you disconnect the USB transceiver after you've done using the mouse? or do you plug it in practically all the time?

and do i need to turn off the mouse after i've done using it? or will it go to sleep and i do not need to worry about it? do you turn it off after you're done using it?

any other tips and tricks or comment you want to add?

This happens on my iMac, and all of my computers with external mice. Move the mouse, and it will wake up from sleep.

I'm using a Mighty Mouse (wired) with an iMac right now and moving the mouse wakes the computer from sleep. Seems like there should be an option in the Energy Saver or Keyboard/Mouse preference pane to prevent this. There's probably a workaround, but I haven't found it yet. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

EDIT: Please read my next post in this thread.

ah so it happens with mighty mouse too aye? strange, i never had any of this problem with my wired (logitech and MX400 and V200) mouse plug into the mac. when moving the mouse, it wouldn't wake it from sleep. only clicking on the button will. i think this is the perfect solution. there is no need to waste the infa red. and moving the mouse is too easy of a way to acidentally wake the computer.

Sorry, I was wrong before. I was using the Sleep Display Widget. This only puts the display to sleep. So, in that case, yes moving a Mighty Mouse will wake your display. However, when I put my iMac to Sleep (yes, it's different), moving the MM will NOT wake the iMac.

Another cool sleep-related Widget: Deep Sleep. This instantly enables what Apple calls "Safe Sleep" or "Hibernate."

Yea, maybe that is what I was doing as well. Though, my Windows desktop wakes from Sleep/Stand By if I move the mouse. So, I'm not really sure.
