Should I wait till 9/9 to buy a Macbook Pro just in case or is it definite Apple is not changing them yet.
-
no one knows....
I've seen people wait before for some big announcement.. what they wanted wasn't announced so they bought what they could have gotten earlier... then 2 weeks later Apple without a big event upgraded the thing they just bought... so you cant ever know for sure. -
From a performance perspective it's almost never worth it to wait, but it's only a week.
-
Most rumors are speculating the first quarter of next year when new Intel processors are suppose to come out.
If you need it now buy it, unless you can hold off for about six months? -
its only a week away. you might as well wait it out.
-
I'm hoping for USB 3.0 on their new systems, but it seems Apple takes a while to adopt new technologies. Hopefully they also had the Core i3, i5, or i7 in their new systsems.
-
Yes its deff a thing to wait for, theyll have these new parts
-DDR4 2000MHZ
-Nvidia 10M GT GDDR5 2Gb VRAM(crysis embedded)
-can four way sli
-i5 core 4GHZ
-WIFI MAXX
-built in transformer
-time travel
Now comes the suprise my friends...It..sadly wont help you play 8 bit megaman or tetris at high res like 1366x788 cause the tech just doesnt exisst.Sorry for all those people out there though, one day youll be able to play super mario on your 10 cored computers with enough power to blow up the galaxy or ignite a flame in the atmosphere. But dont worry my friends...I come with good news, this wont help you load pages faster or right click faster.(extreme sarcasm) -
Ahh man. I just bought my MBP on the 28th of August. I still have till 11th of Sept to return it to BestBuy in case Apple does pump out a new MBP.
-
Thanks, I love it, and I knew it was too tempting for some people on this forum to not do this. I was basically asking if waiting seven days would change the difference in having something that will have better resale value. I really don't need a laptop for time travel anyways, my Deloran will do 88mph.

ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..
People, people......
It is HIGHLY unlikely that Apple will do any updates of their mobile or desktop lines next week. The event is for music only, and the iPod lines are the only thing that is likely to get done (even the AppleTV possibility is considered less likely now).
Apple has never updated their mobile/desktop lines at the same time that they do the music products, at least for the last 3 years running. Last year was a quasi-exception because the new unibody lines were announced in mid-October. -
lol, I think the special event is for ipods only.
The next update for mbp's is late 09/early 2010. Thats when mobile nehalem comes out. -
i would say buy your mac tomorrow. no mac will be updated on a music event.
-
Best advice I ever got regarding a computer purchase:
'If you need it now, buy it now.'
If you're waiting because you want the next big thing, you'll always be waiting. -
Thanks for the responses. I don't need anything now but I want a Mac.
-
The unibody was the big upgrade. It came a year after I bought mine. I actually have an AW desktop and now they are rumored to be releasing all new stuff and I've got one week left in the 30 day window. It's SO hard to predict.
-
If you're a student, you can get a free ipod with your macbook pro, but the deal expires one day before the announcement on 09/09/09.
In reading the rumor sites, no one is saying that the macbook line is getting a refresh soon, but it sounds like new ipods. -
MBPs won't be updated, it'll be Q1 2010.
-
which sucks for students whos college dont release extra monies from financial aid until first day of class which happens after the 9th
-
Worse for me I don't get my extra cash until the end of the month.
-
Buy a Apple refurbished MBP, it's much cheaper but you don't get the free iPod. You do get a free printer up to $100 at least.
-
Thats what I plan, 1699$ for the 15in I want cheaper then student discount and I already have an ipod touch was more for wife but not big deal
-
Or
1)you can buy from ebay (much cheaper-you can find new one for ~1500 with cashback)
2)get pre june model for ~1000-1200
Worth waiting to buy MacbookPro?
