    Worthy RAM upgrade

    Im thinking of upgrading one of the 256 RAM sticks in my macbook. it came withe the stock 2x256MB sticks. But as i can currently afford only 1 upgrade, if i get a 1GB stick, then will it be worth it to take the total to 1256MB even though the sticks wouldnt match anymore. :confused:

    Yes, definately. The extra RAM will be better than running less RAM in dual channel. Dual channel provides such a small increase in performance, it is practically pointless to have.

    I agree with Zero, more RAM is better than dual channel. Especially with the amount you are talking about, 512MB is really low.
