I tried searching but didn't find anything recent.

I'm planning to install XP(via boot camp) on my MBP for the first time and am wondering if there is anything new on the fan control front? Or will I have to do the ole log on to OSX, fiddle with smc and then log into xp?

Yeah I used to mess with the fans using smcfancontrol.

Forget it. The fans automatically spin up to full speed within about 30 seconds of running a full screen 3D game like Counter-Strike: Source or World of Warcraft.

There really is no reason to mess with it manually.

Just for reference, I use Vista.
