    Hello All,

After much internal warfare I am leaning seriously toward finally biting the bullet and getting a new MacBook Pro 17". After looking at so many new Santa Rosa based notebooks I feel the Apple unit is the best bang for the buck for the specs I want although I will wait for the Dell XPS 1730 due to release in the next week just to be sure....LOL

A while back I went to a local Apple store as I had been doing a lot of research on the machines. Ya...the 17"(pre Santa Rosa) was damb hot to the touch but I guess that comes with the territory.

My last questions are the following...

Do the latest 17" models exhibit the yellow LCD screen issues? I heard they have updated the LCD's in the 17" Santa Rosa model. Glossy or matt screen really does not matter although I prefer matt even though I'm typing this on a glossy Dell XPS.

Could a 17" LED be out soon?

Have the heat issues of the early releases been satisfactory resolved? I read many heat related posts but they were fairly old.

Any other insight to problems still existing would be appreciated as it's gonna be a chunk of change none the less..... :)

    Thanks...!

yellowing issues are only with the LED screens so you don't have to worry there
