advice on buying a macbook ?

hi there, id like some advice on buying a macbook. I own the white macbook model, i got it in 2006, and its showing its age, the screen has some scratches and so does most of the plastic, some cracks 2 ( i got it cheap and in bad condition 2, just wanted to clear that up, i look after my stuff)

it works fine, but looking at all the new ones, i could use the graphics boost i think, my one has the gma 950 and it plays hd video, sometimes, it can be laggy and when trying to edit the ones from my camera its slow and laggy. So i think i need an upgrade.

id just like to see what people recommend because there very expensive and if i was to get it id take the 3 year payment option as i cant afford the money at the one go.

I mainly use it for the following things
*watching stuff (dvds, downloaded videos, when im out and at friends)
*the internet (just email and ebay, some youtube)
*editing the occasional hd video (when the camera is used like xmas or days out.
*burning cd/dvd
*storing work files (there rather big, i had to upgrade to a 200gb drive on mine)


i dont think id use it for much more than that, possibly output it to a monitor and use and external keyboard and mouse at work and home.

so what do u guys think, would the baseline macbook white do me or would u recommend one of the pro models
