When I download an open something, lets say a pdf, clearly you would think my intent was to read the pdf. But no, the Firefox icon has to get all happy and bounce up and down like a F'ing terrier until I bring Firefox to the front (it happily informs me my download is finished... yeah I know I was using the file *sigh*). Then I have to dig through the usual 10 windows or so that I usually have open to get back to reading my pdf. I try to ignore the little bugger, it just won't stop! Is there anyway to tame the Firefox icon to be a bit less annoying/distracting?![]()

I was trying to use firefox for the last week, but the PDF management drove me crazy, so I'm back to the webkit/safari (where I have it set to open in a new browser tab which works great), but to answer your question with the dling get download status bar ( https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/26)
