The shipping estimates for the new MacBook Pros are longer than usual, but its not out-of-hand like what's happening with Dell.

The yellow-tint on the screens happen to a minority of users, as with all defects in the notebook industry. As usual, the first batch of users will be more likely to have these issues, as no one else has put out LED screens until Apple did. But its been two months since the release of the MacBook Pros and a lot of the issues will be fixed by now. Even if so, Macs have a 14-day return/exchange period, so if you feel that your MacBook Pro has a yellow tint express your concern to the Apple Store employees exchange it with another one.

Sometimes the yellow tint(it depends) is so subtle that it's barely noticeable.

if you dont notice it, why look for something to make you feel bad about your purchase? I dont understand why people go through so much trouble to find something wrong with what they bought even if they dont notice anything

The MBP's are taking longer than usual to ship. Usually the stores run short on the 2.2GHz MBP, but shipments come in often. The Apple store I visited was out on Friday, but when I called on Sunday, they had a new shipment in and I reserved one for my purchase.

As was mentioned before on several threads, it is largely due to the LED-LCD screens that all notebook manufacturers are using now. It is a new technology and suppliers are trying to keep up with the demand.

I hope my MBP ships out within the next 3 days, as Apple's shipping estimate states.

I've got a LED scree and no yellow tint. This MBP is flawless, and I'm 110% happy with it.

I bought my at an Apple Store in Germantown, Tn. I assume all models were in stock, but I got the 15.4" 2.4GHz version. I haven't noticed any problems with mine and am completely satisfied.

The Apple Stores have several configurations in stock, so you can choose from those. With that said, they most likely will not have your "dream configuration", unless your dream configuration is very popular.

Ordered 7/6/07 shipped 7/29/07. That was a long wait. (MacMall, 2.4Ghz 15" MBP). No yellow, just the usual Apple look and hopefully long term quality. Rest in peace my old Ti book!

the ship date range is rapidly closing in on my order. supposed to ship by wednesday, the 8th. is that an estimate or is it actually that apple will ship it on or before the 8th?

EDIT: I just checked and its now prepped for shipment. Groovy.
