I opened up my 13" and all went well. All went well and I upgraded my MBP to 8g of ram. However, when putting the back (back) on, one screw was giving me a heck of a time, and I slid the screwdriver a bit, very small, but definite scratch on my mac nowit's tiny and you really can't see it, but it still bothers me... Anyway, I was going to put my 2011 4g ram in to my wires 15macbook pro, but the screws are even smaller! Any help on where to find the correct tools would be great! Thanks in advanced.

It's important to have the right screwdrivers to use on MacBook Pros, using those cheap precision screwdrivers will strip the screws.
I picked up a pair of Husky 6-in-1 screwdrivers at Home Depot, one in Torx, and one in Philips. They come with a bunch of different tips were like $5 each and well worth it.
You want to use Philips #00 for MacBook Pros. Good luck. -
what i did was go to ifixit. they have the plans that show you how to take everything apart along with the tools listed you will need which you can buy. its easier to spend the 6 bucks on the 2 tools you need and know will work then waste buying stuff from home depot.

I don't know but ifixit tools didn't work for me. I had this great tool from my optical job days, but it got lost during the move. I ended up taking the mac to the store for ram change as i had already bought it.

I bought the tools mentioned by iFixit too to work on my MacBook Pro 17 (2008) and I couldn't get the last screw out to replace the hard drive. I went to Home Depot and bought a 6-in-1 Torx set and that did the trick. I think that the angle of the driver head can affect whether the driver grabs the screw head or not. Sometimes you have to get two different sets of tools.

This screwdriver set has the necessary Phillips and Torx heads and is only $5.

The one you need is the 22-piece precision set. -
And it is from ebay. What guarantee is there that the tools won't wear out the first time you try to open the screws?

If you're trying to crack it open, why not use a hammer and chisel?
