I don't do much burning, but I've heard lots of recommendations for Toast Titanium.

This has to be one of the coolest burning softwares ever: http://www.discoapp.com/

Theres an interactive smoke that comes out from the program while you burn music or dvds. You can blow away the smoke by blowing into your microphone.

    That sounds neat.

They need to make a program that makes real interactive smoke come out of your burner. You can blow it away by blowing at the real smoke in real-time!

I choose Disco too. I noticed it burns full DVD's on my USB burner faster than the latest Toast does. Difference is several minutes!

Another vote for Toast here. I've been using it in a production environment for years, and have never had a problem with it.

Ok, here's a dumb question: does OSX allow a person to simply drag-n-drop files to a DVD-Disc and burn, much like how Windows XP and Vista do it? Or do I have to go through a special application like Toast Titanium or some other application?

You don't need any special applications to burn normal media and data. Toast just gives you a prettier interface and some more options.
