I see on future shop they have incredible deal on black macbook 2.2 at $350 off its now $1299 cnd which was reg $1649. The new 2.4 black macbook will be $1549.
I dont own a macbook but want one and was wondering for the price difference would I be better to wait and buy the 2.4 or just go ahead and buy the 2.2 macbook. All replies would be appreciated..

At a $350 price difference, I'd go with the lower model. You can upgrade the ram and hard drive yourself latter for cheap, and it's unlikely that you're REALLY notice the extra .2mhz that much.

stealthsniper96 What Was I Thinkin'?
Yea most people are going to say "I doubt you'll notice an extra .2". What are you going to be using it for?
-
Yeah, at that sort of price discount, definitely the 2.2 GHz MacBook. Like stealthsniper noted, the .2 GHz is not going to be that significant. Plus, its not like the new MacBook added LED-backlighting or anything to "entice", only Penryn, which isn't worth $350, in my opinion.
-
The main advantage of the refreshed penryn notebooks is that they run cooler and gain about 45 minutes of battery life (according to anandtech).
-
Best Buy also has the black macbook at $1200.
-
Plus don't forget that you're losing 1MB cache going with the new model which translates into a 4-6% performance loss, which essentially takes away the 200MHz advantage. I'd go for the discount.

I got the 2.4 T8300 and exchanged it for the 2.1 T8100 with 4 gigs of ram and still saved about 100$... It's the best move I could have done
-
I just got my black macbook 2.2 yesterday and, after increasing the RAM to 2GB, it's doing all of my daily stuff. I really don't think that another 200mhz would really improve my experience in any significant way.
-
I would go for the 2.4ghz without a doubt

orderded the black macbook 2.2 wahoooooooo
