Go with a white one. The black one is more expensive due to color. You can get a better spec'ed white macbook for the same price as the refurbished black one.
-
I'd get the white one. Unless you really want the black colour.
-
jus as i thought. naah m not into colour. could jus paint it paint, n tht would come cheaper than the real thng...haha. thanks for the reply. i also want to ask, can u tell me few softwares which might be useful to me, jus for starters....
-
yeah, get the white one!difference isnt worth it!
-
Just note, however, that the black one you listed comes with twice the RAM, a larger HDD, and a SuperDrive (vs the ComboDrive of the white one).

If you don't use DVD-RW than white one is better for you. It has newer CPU (Penryn), it's not refurbished, memory can be upgraded to 2Gb for like 40£.

Another vote for the white one from me.

I'm planning on buying a MacBook shortly and I too am debating between black and white.
My concern with the white is that it would attract dirt/fingerprints more so than the black.....can anyone offer an opinion? -

If that is your only concern - the white picks up scratches more, while the black picks up a lot more grease, fingerprints and dust.
If you only care about that - it really depends on you. Do you rather have a greasy (but you can wipe it) Macbook, or a scratched Macbook? Neither are good choices, but at least with the black you can wipe it off. It also depends on which one you like more.
Again, choosing which one to get in this case, depends on whether these are the only things you're basing your choice. You should also, however, take into account the pricing, the harddrive, the glossy vs matte, ect. -
For me, my choices are pretty limited as even a 13" screen is boardering too large for me so that automatically knocks out the MBP.
Based upon your comments, I'd rather have something with a more durable finish that resists scratching. I can put up with fingerprints and such more so than scratches. -
The scratches on white MB are only visible from close up. They are not like ones on silver painted notebooks, which are the worst, or HP glossy finish notebooks.

Well I went to one of the local Mac stores tonight to take an in-person look at both the White and Black MBs.
Right away I fell in love with the Black and picked it up as well as a wireless Mighty Mouse (which I'm not too sure I like yet).
I think the Black looks a little more classy than the white, as well it won't show the dirt which I noticed the White ones in the store did. -

Don't be afraid to ask any questions!

My vote goes to the Whitebook with specs upgraded to the price of the Blackbook. That way your notebook is faster than a blackbook and it is brand new so you can buy the apple warranty and whatnot
-
Thanks Sam. I have to admit that I've caught on to Leopard pretty quick from installing it on my Dell m1330.....but obviously I still have a lot to learn!
Stone: the fastest White MB has the same processor as the Black MB (2.4ghz C2D) so how do you figure it's faster?
I didn't bother getting AppleCare right now.....I'll definitely get it before the 1yr warranty is up however. -
I'm getting a MacBook soon (yay!!) and I'm going for the black. I love the look of white just as much, but I'm more concerned about how it ages - scratches and dirt/discoloration don't sound as easy to remove as fingerprints.
Both gorgeous looking though, can't wait to get one =D
black or white....
