I bought a copy of windows xp through zipzoomfly as you guys reccomended.
Everything was going well, i partitioned my hard drive, etc. Then it says to insert the xp disc, so i do and it says "the installer cd could not be found". I have tried multiple times and it doesn't work. I desperately need help

I hate to be 'that guy' but please review the Forum Rules:
Were you this impatient with Boot Camp? Did you wait for your drive to spin-up and for the Windows XP CD to load? After you insert the CD, try waiting for about 15-20 seconds :).

yea, i'm sorry. there have been so many things going wrong with my mbp (my first mac ever) i'm just really frustrated. I waited a long time, the icon for the xp disc comes up on the desktop (its called VX2HOEM_EN). I then hit ok in the box that says the cd could not be found and then pressed "start installation" again and the same thing happens

p.s. its okay to be "that guy" haha

i found out what the problem was! I had to be in the administrator's account. It asked me for the administrator's passwords a few times, so i didn't think it mattered what account i was in as long as i had the password. Sorry for being really really annoying guys!

Its weird that it could not find your windows cd... which version of boot camp are you using? the latest is v1.4.

Have you tried closing out the Boot Camp assistant, putting in the Windows XP disc, wait for it to show up on the desktop (i.e. become mounted), then open up the boot camp assistant and try again?

Edit: Seems like you found the solution. Groovy! Forget about this post then.
