Ok, I just recently got a new harddrive and backed it up via Time Machine. Because time machine does not save any Bootcamp information I used WinClone to create a .dmg file of my windows XP partition. I ran the boot camp assistant and created a bootcamp assistant. Then when it asked me to insert the windows install CD I cancelled that process and started Winclone and restored my original windows xp partition on the new boot camp partition I created. Now the bootcamp partition wont show up in Mac Os X, when i look it disk utility it seems like Bootcamp wont mount. However, when I log out and hold down the option key I can boot into windows like that. the problem now is that VMWare fusion wont work because bootcamp isnt mounted.

I have the same sort of problem. Unfortunately it really is not a problem for me. I can still boot into windows, it just doesnt show the partition in osx.
