this is with minimal workload besides leaving BT on w/ 50kbs down and 10kbps up capped.
room temperature is anywhere around 20-24, common room temperature at a library in edmonton.
keep in mind that this is the CPU's temperature so it has less to do with the GPU's issue.
thanks

check for CPU intensive process running in background.also, try to clean vents.
-
how to check which program is cpu intensive?
vent is clean -
Yep, there might be something blocking the air vents, so make sure they are cleared out and nothing is obstructing the air flow.
Also, Activity Monitor will show you any processes that are using CPU usage, and "Monitor Activity!"
-
anyway, just in case,"clean it with air"...
use activity monitor to check that. -
Turn up your fans! smcfancontrol!
-
i am thinking the cause of that is due from an entrapment of heat from the desk since the gap between notebook isn't enough and thus temperature build up.
52C now w/ 2500rpm and itune + normal load use.
i do have smc control but it doesn't seem to help whenever the heat build up to around 70C every time.
i do intend to keep transmission on since i want to finish and get rid of the gundam see 1-50 off to my mobile HDD -_-' silly 12gb has kept the notebook on most of the time
-
Now that sounds about right, as compared to my MB.
SMCfancontrol is a great application that will manually let you control what speeds your fans run at, and you can turn your fans on full blast way before the system turns them on full blast.
It'll let you maintain a lower temperature with your own preferences.

80ish cpu idle right now
with a ruler under the heated side(top bottom) temperature stays at 55C after a reboot. -
that could be fan issue-I would contact apple.
-
58/60C with a ruler under the hot part, 2500rpm
BT again capped 50/10 k
GPU is same temperature
there is no visible items behind the vent either.
with fan @ 3k, temperature drops to 55C
the fan do response to the SMC control as the fan noise become apparent >3300rpm
@3700rpm, temperature is cooled to 53C
constantly floating at 70+C, normal?
