the main video works, but the screen where you chose where you want to do things is all garbled. I patched it to 1.11b and I'm running the expansion Lord of Destruction. Anyone else have this problem on a macbook?

You have to set it to Software mode in the Video options that pops up when you try to run the game. Diablo 2 is a carbon app, it's old and OS X doesn't support 3D hardware acceleration for cabon apps anymore.

You probably checked the Don't show again box of the video settings window when it came up. Just run the OS X installer file and change it from there.

You should have downloaded it from the Blizzard website. Diablo 2 does not install under OS X without the modified installer.

The copy you bought probably was updated from the original. Just like if you buy a copy of WoW, it's a more updated version than the original retail.

    Hi.

I've got the same problem as passive101.
I understand that I have to change video from the installer downloaded from the Brizzzard.com

I've made it that far but I still can't find out how to change the video setting in the installer.(Only the list of installation option appears)

Can some one please tell me what I have to do after starting the installer?

    Thanks.

You know... come ot think of it. I had problems with it running in full screen. **** would get all messed up, garbled.

None full screen worked fine though. I don't have it installed anymore, so I can't check to see if I was trying to use 3d acceleration or software rendering.
