Yes it does, more or less every notebook LCD does.

The MBP comes with its own GPU, bigger screen.

Are you referring to the backlit keyboard? That's only on the MBP.

Otherwise, what mitchtj listed are about the only differences.

Nearly all if not all laptops have backlights for the LCD's.

MacBook Pro also has a true DVI out. The MacBook has a proprietary Mini-DVI adaptor. That in itself makes me rule the MacBook out as a possible laptop; I hate proprietary cables...it seems like something Sony would do.

Yeah it's true DVI, what the heck does 'true' come in here? I never seen a fake DVI. Anyways, Mini-DVI is DVI, it just uses a cable (connection port to be more accurate) that is proprietary only to Apple.

I believe the cable comes with it, no? Only the mBp has a backlit keyboard - the regular mb does not

No the Cable doesn't come with it, you need to buy it from Apple for 19 bucks.

At least it has a DVI out. Either use the adapter or get a mini-DVI to DVI cable.

In the PC laptops I have been looking at 95% don't even have a DVI port even though you can still get the analog signal from it, like apple offers with the adapter.

You should be praising apple for the way they are doing it

I disagree. I can see no good reason for including a proprietary mini-dvi that is completely useless without an adapter other than milking its costumers for more money. If they had put an ordinary DVI into it as the MBP has, then I could plug it straight into an LCD and buy an adapter should I want to plug in a VGA or S-video device. The way it is, I am forced to buy from one up to three different adapters if I want to use external video at all (and carry they along, and they are also not very durable).
