Not for $900. That is a ripoff. At least in the US.

Where are you located? If you are in the US about $1000-1200 depending on condition assuming that is the MBP4.1 with MultiTouch.

Go to the apple store refurb section, if any older model is close to those prices its a rip off.

This one is actually still a very nice machine with that LED screen and fairly fast GPU. However, the resale value on these declined dramatically after the unibody releases. I sold mine early this year for $1200 CDN, which was a mediocre deal for me. As of now, you should not pay more than $1100 USD ($1200 with Applecare) for that, IMO.

One thing you could do is just buy yourself one of the white polycarbonate MacBooks and save yourself a few hundred dollars. I don't know if you are in the US or Canada, but either way, it's the cheapest Mac notebook out there and a fairly capable system to boot. As a matter of fact, my MacBook runs Unreal Tournament III under Vista better than my HP desktop does. At native resolution too!

Check the deals section of www.lowendmac.com. They have a portion of the deals section that has the lowest prices listed for Macs (both desktop and notebook) at online outlets that either ship to Canada or are based in Canada.
