No glossy is matte. Less glossy would be "less glossy"
. Haha anyways yes.
-
Ya it is a matte screen which I personally prefer.
-
but what are the advantages and disadvantages of each?

Glossy screens produce brighter more realistic colors, but they have problems with glare.
Matte screens have less glare, but produce a dull screen with a bad contrast in colors. -
I went for the matte screen, as I absolutely hate glares, and I love to have my window open. I've used both glossy and matte screens on MBPs now, and while there is a little better contrast and clarity on the glossy, it's not nearly enough to warrant the amount of glare involved.

On another note, Matte screens can produce a decent but slightly fuzzy reflection if the lighting is just right, you angel the screen just so, and put something within a few inches of the display. But besides that, they're very non=reflective. I can't stand reflections. I even have anti-glare coating on my eye glasses. Matte works for me. -
Having had experience with both, I would go Matte undoubtedly.
Glossy looks brigher and more vivid, but glare is an issue, as is the dust. It seems to show/attract way more dust than a matte screen.
I have a 700m now (glossy), and my next machine will more than likely be matte. -
I saw the like 35" or whatever apple cinema display (btw that thing is a hi-def TV, not a computer display) which is matte and the image clarity is actually worse than the screen on my macbook pro.
glossy vs not glossy
