I have the Acer X191. It's a discontinued model, so you might be able to pick one up on clearance. If you have Staples stores near you, check there.

Apple Cinema Displays are pretty expensive...I personally wouldn't get one.

Not really. Dell ultrabrights offer a good value, at about half the cost of cinema displays.

I have a few huge issues with the Cinema Displays. First, an integrated cord. If that cord gets screwed up, your display is toast until you take it to someone to fix. Next, it only has DVI, and only one at that. If you want to hook up 2 computers you would need a switch which of course costs more, and DVI switches are not cheap. Lastly, cost. Even with an educational discount, the 20" Cinema Display $549. Dell offers 2 20" models under $300 and the third (UltraSharp) is usually priced well under $400. All 3 come with more inputs and are good panels, especially the UltraSharps.
