I just want to see if I can have the macbook shipped to the city which i'm leaving for at the end of the week. I'll do that only if the packaging isn't that huge and I can bring the whole thing back with me. So, how much thicker and wider is the packaging than the macbook laptop itself?
* Edit: I should note that I'm buying a refurbished macbook. Would the packaging be different (I doubt it).

MacBook packaging is pretty tight, Apple doesn't waste a lot of space. I think somebody posted the dimensions in this forum at some point -- though I might be imagining things.
*edit* here's a thread with dimensions for the MacBook Pro 15" package

so smaller than that, which is pretty small. -
Yup.... check this guy's photos; the MacBook packaging is not that much bigger than the laptop itself:

Having said that, if you have it shipped to you, I imagine they put it in a larger box, and there's no telling what the dimensions of that may be.
I think refurb MacBooks sometimes come in different packaging, but I'm not sure. I've heard it both ways (some people getting it in the original packaging, others getting it in a plain brown box).

They ship the white box inside a brown cardboard box. It's about 2" bigger in every dimension.

Sorry to revive a dumped thread; but could anyone please provide the exact measurements for the box of the 13" MacBook?
how big is the macbook package which is shipped?
