I would say around $200-$300. Do not buy any above that price.

Powerbooks might go for around $400 but for the heat they put out theyre not worth it.

White macbooks core duo/core 2 duo go for around $550+

You'd be surprised how much G4 powerbooks still sell for. Apple products really hold their resale value. Especially those 12" powerbooks- those puppies have quite the cult following. For the most part, I'd estimate that the last aluminum G4 powerbook revisions would sell for between $500-$1000 (for 12"-17") on eBay, but you may find them cheaper on craigslist.

They aren't the latest technology for sure, but they are useful for basic productivity. Heck, I'm even planning to put OSX on a Kanga-class G3 Powerbook I'm picking up soon.

They are a valid alternative to a netbook. I'm actually quite surprised about how many students and professors still use powerbooks here at CMU.

Look on eBay, you'll probably be able to score a powerbook for around $450 or $400 now (probably last generation powerbooks) or ibooks for around $200.

But at this point I really dont see the point in buying a powerbook or an ibook. I would look into buying a first generation coreduo macbook.

Also for the netbook vs. powerbook/ibook, I bought recently a samsung nc10 and its one of the best little netbooks/notebooks I've ever had! 99% of the time I forget its a netbook, it feels like a normal notebook to me.

The crazy part is that I can play full 1080p mkv files just fine, you cant do that with any powerbooks.

I sold a 12" Powerbook a few months back for ~ $500. It was absolutely mint and the hard to find 1.5ghz model.
