    how much difference betweeen MBP new/old video cards?

    will that extra 512MB's make a huge difference? theyre the same cards, just more VRAM. I bought mine 2 days before the update so im just wondering.

    Edit: I meant extra 256 MB's of RAM, not and EXTRA 512MB

    well going from 128 to 256 is a huge improvement as the 8600 gt needs 256mb of memory. However, the card is going to run into other bottlenecks in a situation where 512mb of memory is necessary so there isn't going to be much improvement going from 256 to 512.

    yeah the big deal is that the low end one now gets 256 megs of video ram. going to 256 to 512 isn't a big deal at all, but 128 megs of vram does bottleneck the 8600m gt.
